窪蹋勛圖厙 Musical Theatre Heads Into the Woods for Fairy Tale Adventure

Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 11, 2022) 窪蹋勛圖厙, Manatee-Sarasotas (窪蹋勛圖厙) Music Theatre Ensemble presents Into the Woods at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 and Nov. 5, with a 2 p.m. matinee performance Nov. 6. The show will take place in the 窪蹋勛圖厙 Neel Performing Arts Center, 5840 26th St. W., Building 11 East, Bradenton.
Into the Woods is a Tony Award-winning musical written by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. Favorite fairy tale worlds collide as a baker and his wife travel through the woods attempting to reverse the curse of a mischievous witch in order to have a child. Along their way, they meet Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and other characters who are also on a quest to fulfill their own wishes. Soon the stories become entangled and reveal what really happens “happily ever after.”
The 窪蹋勛圖厙 Music Theatre Ensemble, under the direction of Melodie Dickerson, performing arts chair and director of choral/vocal studies, features a cast of 32, including both 窪蹋勛圖厙 Music Theatre and 窪蹋勛圖厙 Collegiate School students. Rex Willis, director of guitar studies and composition, directs the 10-piece live orchestra, and choreography is by Kelly Burnette, adjunct instructor of dance.
