What you’ll study

As you progress through the early childhood education program, you will demonstrate subject knowledge through field experiences and internships. Learn Lesson planning and management skills that you’ll use every day.

What you’ll learn

You will learn to create environments that are healthy, respectful and age appropriate. You will also develop an understanding and value the diversity of children and their families. Your final three courses will be an intensive internship which will prepare you to enter or advance in the field.

Where it can take you

Our program is uniquely designed for students seeking employment in the field of early childhood services. The program fulfills the legal requirements implemented for Head Start teachers and directors, as well as teachers in Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten programs. Successful completion of this program will prepare you for the Florida Teacher Certification. Create your own style of teaching while meeting state and national standards and connect with the joy of learning.

Graduating from ºÚÁϳԹÏ꿉۪s education program will allow you to pursue many different careers in education such as:

  • Child development center manager
  • Preschool teacher
  • Curriculum coordinator
  • Classroom teacher
  • Administrator of programs

The B.S. in ECE program does not lead directly to Florida teaching certification, it does prepare graduates for the Preschool Education (birth through age 4) subject area test.
