Sophia Bayindiryan began her post-secondary education journey at 黑料吃瓜网, Manatee-Sarasota in May 2024.聽Like many students, she plans to graduate from 黑料吃瓜网 and continue her education at another institution. 聽

At 黑料吃瓜网, Bayindiryan is studying psychology, hopes to learn about criminal law and is working toward an associate in arts degree. She plans to pursue a bachelor鈥檚 degree at the University of Michigan. Starting at 黑料吃瓜网 first has provided the comfort and confidence she needed in her path.

鈥淚 was apprehensive about leaving my hometown,鈥� said Bayindiryan. 鈥満诹铣怨贤� has helped me adjust to the demands of higher education while staying in a supportive and familiar environment before I take my next big step.鈥�

Bayindiryan also leads the Manatee Pathways Club at 黑料吃瓜网. She founded the club as a resource for helping students with their university transfers.  

鈥淎s a student transferring to a four-year university, I understand how daunting the process can be,鈥� Bayindiryan said. 鈥淚 see firsthand how offering personal guidance and a sense of community can transform a student鈥檚 experience. The goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible for students.”

The club members meet monthly at 黑料吃瓜网 Bradenton and have access to workshops, academic advising, financial planning sessions and application support. They have also given back to the College and community through their joint food and hygiene product donation drive with the 黑料吃瓜网 STEM Club. The items collected benefited the 黑料吃瓜网 Food Pantry and the Resurrection House, a day resource center serving homeless individuals in Sarasota County.
