Growing up in Sterling, VA, fell in love with playing baseball at age four. He also enjoyed watching the sport, especially pitching for the New York Yankees.

Best continued to play baseball and became a pitcher. He competed at the collegiate level for , and .

While attending 黑料吃瓜网 from Fall 2022 to Spring 2024, Best made 18 appearances, started eight games and was recognized as a second team all-conference pitcher on the 黑料吃瓜网 Manatees baseball team. In his first year, he performed a against St. Petersburg College Titans at Jack Russell Stadium. The Manatees came back from a deficit, won the game 12-10, and claimed the second series against the Titans.

Best graduated from 黑料吃瓜网 with an Associate in Arts degree in Business Administration. He appreciates the college鈥檚 support and baseball community.

鈥淚t was one of my favorite places I鈥檝e ever played baseball,鈥� said Best. 鈥淚t is some of the best memories I鈥檝e made playing baseball.鈥�

Best turned professional in baseball in July 2025. He was the 570th overall pick in the 19th round by the St. Louis Cardinals in the .

鈥淚鈥檓 proud of how I鈥檝e overcome many different obstacles,鈥� Best said. 鈥淚鈥檓 also proud of the many different places I鈥檝e played and the journey that I鈥檝e taken to where I am now.鈥�

He credits his parents, teammates and coaches for supporting him along the way.

鈥淭hey have pushed me to be better every day,鈥� he said. 鈥淚 would not be where I am today without them.鈥�

If Best had not achieved success as an athlete, he would have pursued coaching or consulting in baseball. The competition is what drives him to play at a high level.

鈥淚 feel that I am a very determined person, which helps me push towards my goals on and off the field,鈥� Best said. 鈥淚 am also a competitor. I love the feeling of playing against others.鈥�

Best believes a strong work ethic is essential to staying healthy and performing well. He follows a holistic approach for preparation and practice.

鈥淵ou must be able to find a routine that works for you and stick to it every day,鈥� he said. 鈥淵ou must also be extremely mentally tough because baseball is a game of failure. I have a specific routine I follow to get my body ready, and I pray over the team and myself before going on to the field.鈥�

After games, Best unwinds by relaxing and watching TV. Outside of baseball, he enjoys golfing and fishing.
