窪蹋勛圖厙 Names Patricia Rand, Ph.D., as Vice President of Academic Affairs

Bradenton, FL (Nov. 4, 2025) With a vision rooted in innovation and student success, Patricia Rand, Ph.D., has been promoted to Vice President of Academic Affairs at 窪蹋勛圖厙, Manatee-Sarasota (窪蹋勛圖厙).

A forward-thinking academic leader known for her data-driven decision-making and inclusive leadership style, Rand has served as Interim Provost since January 2025. In that role, she led strategic academic restructuring, strengthened cross-divisional communication, and expanded faculty development initiatives that reinforce 窪蹋勛圖厙s student-centered mission.

Dr. Rand has proven herself to be a leader who listens, collaborates, and acts decisively, said 窪蹋勛圖厙 President Tommy Gregory. Her vision for academic excellence and her dedication to student success will continue to move the college forward.

Her promotion follows a comprehensive national search and extensive campus feedback process involving faculty, staff and students. Rand was selected for her broad academic experience, innovative leadership style and deep commitment to 窪蹋勛圖厙 and the Parrish community.

Reflecting on her new role, Rand shared, I am deeply honored to serve 窪蹋勛圖厙 in this capacity and to continue working alongside our exceptional faculty and staff. Together, we will build on the colleges strong foundation of academic innovation and create even more pathways for student success.

Rand earned her Ph.D. in general psychology with an emphasis in technology and learning from Grand Canyon University, a Master of Arts in information, learning, and technology from the University of Colorado Denver, and dual bachelors degrees in biology and psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder.

She is active in professional and community leadership, serving on the Florida Council of Instructional Affairs Steering Committee, the Manatee Technical College Board of Governors, and as a mentor for the University of Colorado Alumni Association.
